BALTIMORE — The Maryland Science Center in Baltimore is celebrating Pi Day with a party.
Friday is March 14, or 3-14, the first three digits of the number pi. The number, the circumference of a circle divided by its diameter, is a mathematical constant.

The science center is celebrating with activities including a pi eating contest and a contest where entrants recite the digits in pi.
Friday is also Albert Einstein’s birthday. The famed physicist would have turned 135 on Friday and the science center’s celebration will include singing “Happy Birthday” to Einstein as well as experiments related to his work.
